If you were asked to explain what your blog is about in one sentence would you be able to?  If I asked you what your “brand” statement was would you be able to talk about it or would you give me a blank stare?  Do you have an easy to recognize logo that will instantly “click” in the mind of your blog readership?  Finally, if a regular reader where to try to explain you to their friends, would they be able to explain what your blog is about effortlessly? Â

Viral marketing is one of those terms that are thrown around by a lot of marketers but is truly understood by a few.  Viral Marketing is simply creating something that is so “sticky” that it is easily spread to others with little or no effort by its creator.  The problem is, many creators do not know how to make their “creation” easy to spread.

There’s a reason why they created the phrase “there’s no such thing as bad publicity”. It’s because it’s true!  Just look at Britney Spears, R Kelly, Michael Jackson and the Octuplet Mom to name a few.  Regardless how they received their attention, the fact is that they HAVE ATTENTION.  You might think playing it safe is a good move, because you don’t want to alienate visitors, but the opposite is true.  By being just another plain vanilla blog, you are not giving people a reason to keep coming back!

One of the most frequently asked questions’ that bloggers ask is “how do I increase my site’s rank in Google?”  The simple answer is relevancy.  The more relevant you are to the search query, the higher your rank will be.  There are a few other factors that go into it, but relevancy probably ranks the highest.  The next question is, how do you increase your relevancy?

I know that title left you a little curious, didn’t it? No, I don’t literally mean to make an ASS out of yourself, lol! What I mean is that you need to make your ASSistance invaluable to your niche community. You need to make sure you’re the “go-to” guy or gal in your little corner of the blogosphere. Doing so will ensure that YOU are the blog people get referred to above all others.
