What is a Content Management System? A Web Content Management System (CMS) is a browser based system used to update your website or blog. By using a CMS, you can virtually know nothing about HTML coding or website design to update your website. Adding content to your site is as easy as typing a letter in Microsoft Word. You can add text, images and video quickly and easily giving virtually anyone the ability to run a professional website or blog. Why Should I Use A Content Management System? Why not? Practically every site or blog on the net is running on a CMS. It simply does not make sense to add new content to a website manually anymore (by manually I mean hand-coding page by page). Content Management Systems also are configured to provide better site organization. Basically they organize your articles and content for you, neatly and efficiently. They support "tags", provide built-in search engine optimization, and can even alert the search engines when you post new content. This makes it easier for people to find your site on Search Engines, like the almighty Google!

Why keeping it real is better than playing it safe....
Your New and Don't Want to Piss People Off Most new bloggers don't want to step on toes, alienate visitors or piss anyone off. This is why they are new and their blogs suck. Who wants to real the same old plain vanilla blog, with no unique voice or vision? PC = Boring. If people only wanted to hear one point of view, we would all only have one friend. Variety is the spice of life.  You need to be PAINFULLY honest, and don't be afraid to be passionate about something you agree or disagree with. Otherwise, you'll just bore the hell out of people and they'll go read fun blogs like TMZ or asses like Perez Hilton.

Joomla is a website Content Management System. Â It basically makes it easier for you to update your website and manage it's content. Â Most major websites run on some sort of content management system. Â If you've ever heard of Wordpress, it's THE most popular Content Management System (CMS) on the web right now for blogs. You can run a blog on Joomla, but I recommend it more for full-blown, full featured professional websites. Â A cool feature of Content Management Systems is that you can change the appearance, or "template" at anytime and all your articles, pages, video's and downloads will work just fine. Â Only the appearance changes - not the content.
Only newbies call it them Content Management Systems by the way, us pro's call them CMS's!

I recently came across a great Youtube Video from Google about their new Forms feature in Google Docs. It basically ports information from a web or email submission form in REAL-TIME to your Google Docs spreadsheet. Simply amazing!

Your Mom thinks your special So you have a blog with a pretty decent template and great content. You really think its great and your friends, family and acquaintances think its really awesome - they are truly impressed. You have widgets, video, downloads, tag clouds, blah, blah blah. You labor over it for hours on end and send tweets, and facebook updates whenever you add new content.  Here's the sad but true reality - 99.99% of the Internet population doesn't really care.
Who are you to them? What makes you different from the MILLIONS - yes MILLIONS of other bloggers out there? Why should they read or care about your "Cool Wordpress Plugins" article when there are hundreds of articles written about the same topic? You need to stand out from the crowd to attract a mainstream following and to make your efforts truly worthwhile. The first thing you need to realize is you can't do that by following the "herd" and fitting in.
